It started out as a recessed area in the bedroom probably meant for a small dresser. It was transformed into a built-in dresser with a TV cabinet above. This is a great example of when it makes sense to hire someone like myself to build a custom cabinet instead of an “off-the-shelf” model. The size and desired purpose was very specific.

I built both cabinets ahead of time in my shop and installed them at the site later. I added crown to the TV cabinet and carried the base trim across the front of the dresser cabinet. The TV uses a “flipper” style hinge and track. The doors are stored out of the way while watching TV and can be easily closed again to hide the TV for a nice tidy look. The clients did all the painting themselves.
